A friend of mine lost his wife and I was at the funeral service held for her last week in Lagos.

Yes, she was young, like a little lovely plant growing to become a tree, with a lifetime ahead of her; but as I have come to realise about life, people die whether old or young, right in the middle of a sentence, right in the middle of life; a full stop just like that.

They say good people don’t go to heaven, forgiven people do. I know she is in a better place, because she was good as she was forgiven.

Death is a lot like life, it happens to us whether we like it or not. Funerals are not for the dead, they are for the living. To everyone dealing with the loss of a loved one right now, may the peace of God that passeth all understanding find you today and always…Amen.
